Content protection

Content protection means to provide security against illegal copying of the e-book content. Content protection can be different. In case of e-books we can meet with so called social (light) protection or DRM protection.

Social protection

It is not so strict protection and more convenient from the buyer point of view. The bought e-book is identified by specific feature – usually by buyer´s name, purchase order number, date etc. These features are usually incorporated into an e-book and the book source is then easily sought out.

DRM protection

DRM is for Digital Rights Management which means that the e-book is technically protected and can be read only on limited number of devices. In case you want to read e-book protected by DRM you need to have installed specific software – Adobe Digital Editions or to have installed software which supports DRM software.
